Shanshan Qin, Ph.D.

Associate Research Scientist, CCN, Flatiron Institute

Shanshan Qin is an Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Computational Neuroscience (CCN). Before joining the Flatiron Institute in February 2024, he held a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. He earned his Ph.D. in physics from Peking University, China. Shanshan’s research focuses on theoretical and computational neuroscience, tackling fundamental questions such as how the brain efficiently senses and represents the external world, organizes and updates memories to support adaptive behavior, and solves computational problems at the algorithmic level.
