Vasila Abdumuminova

Vasila Abdumuminova is a Thomas Hunter Scholar at Hunter College pursuing her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a minor in economics. In her school community, she is a board member of United for Youth, a club dedicated to helping foster youth, and a graphic designer at The Envoy, a student-run news site. In the past, she has volunteered as a student researcher in the Mason Lab at Weill Cornell Medical College, worked as a medical office assistant and volunteered in hospital settings. As an SCGB Undergraduate Research Fellow, Vasila is excited to work alongside Manu Raghavan and members of the Movshon Lab at New York University, where she will compare and analyze the performance of artificial neural networks to human performance when conducting the same tasks.
