Wenrui Xu joined the foundation in 2022 as a Flatiron Research Fellow at the CCA. Wenrui mainly studies the formation and long-term evolution of protostellar and protoplanetary disks and how they impact the formation of planets. Recently, his research has focused on characterizing the properties of young (Class 0/I) protostellar disks via a synergy between numerical simulation, analytic theory, and observational data modeling. Before joining the foundation, Wenrui received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Princeton University, and a B.A. in physics and math from Cornell University.
