Daniel Anglés-Alcázar joined the foundation in 2017 as a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Astrophysics. Anglés-Alcázar develops large cosmological hydrodynamic simulations to investigate the formation of galaxies and their central supermassive black holes. Recently, his research has focused on understanding the large-scale gas flows that govern galaxy evolution and the impact of interstellar medium and stellar feedback physics on the growth of supermassive black holes. Prior to joining the foundation, he was a CIERA Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Arizona, an M.S. in physics from the University of Puerto Rico and a B.S. (Licenciatura) in physics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
