Xiao Wang, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, CCQ, Flatiron Institute

Xiao Wang joined the Flatiron Institute in 2019 as a Research Fellow in the Center for Computational Quantum Physics. He is interested in developing quantum chemistry methods for materials, with a focus on excited states and strong correlation. Prior to coming here, Xiao was a Postdoctoral Associate at Virginia Tech, working with Prof. Edward Valeev on local density fitting approximations for periodic wavefunction methods. He earned his B.S. from Beihang University in 2012 and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2016.
