Kelsa Trom
Senior Program Manager, Science, Society & Culture
Kelsa Trom is a senior program manager who oversees special initiatives to support Science, Society & Culture awardees’ boundary-breaking work – and to propel new creative projects. She designs a suite of community and capacity-building offerings tailored to the needs of grantee organizations. Kelsa also leads the foundation’s pioneering efforts at the intersection of science and contemporary art through the Triangle Program. Across these initiatives, Kelsa draws on 15 years of experience in cultural programming, design research, communications, and community building. In previous roles, Kelsa created grants and fellowships for independent writers at Substack, developed a professional development program for interdisciplinary artists at NEW INC, the New Museum’s arts incubator, and crafted educational experiences for designers at Fjord. She holds a B.A. in rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley and is pursuing her M.A. in public scholarship from CUNY Graduate Center.
