Mohammadhossein Firouznia joined the Center for Computational Biology (CCB) as a Flatiron Research Fellow in October 2023. He has a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego, a Master of Science from Ohio University, and a Bachelor of Science from Tehran Polytechnic, all in Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on fluid mechanics, applied mathematics, and active matter physics. During his Ph.D., he developed theoretical and computational models to investigate interfacially driven flows and their dynamics in active and electrohydrodynamic systems. Hossein is a recipient of the Powell Fellowship at UCSD.
