University of Michigan

Verena Wu is a junior at the University of Michigan pursuing a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and gender studies. She is an officer of the University of Michigan Pre-Veterinary club, an active member of the Mu Epsilon Delta pre-health fraternity and a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary clinic. As a freshman, she enjoyed an opportunity to learn more about ecology and behavior through research on wasp behavior. However, she wanted experience in human medicine and research and sought out the SURFiN program to better explore this field. Currently, she is interested in pharmaceutical sciences, neurodegenerative diseases, veterinary medicine and female reproductive health and is planning to continue her education and research in one of these fields after completing her undergraduate degree.
