Watch: Turning El Paso, Texas, Into the World’s Science Mural Capital
When ART+BIO Collaborative brings its Science Murals initiative into new neighborhoods in El Paso, Texas, walls are reimagined as windows into exploration and learning. Through this initiative, emerging artists and scientists work side by side to transform blank walls into vibrant narratives inspired by scientific imagery, history and community stories. These murals are more than public art. They transform everyday spaces into places of wonder.
This spirit of collaboration mirrors the scientific method. Like scientists, artists observe closely, experiment boldly and share their findings. Through workshops, mentorship, residencies, murals and community engagement, ART+BIO demonstrates the ways in which both art and science help us understand the world.
In this video, hear from Stephanie Dowdy-Nava and Saúl Nava, co-founders of ART+BIO, as they discuss their mission to make El Paso the science mural capital of the world.
