Quanta Magazine Launches Weekly Dispatch to Cover How AI Is Changing Math

AI is impacting math at an unprecedented pace. This week alone, AI helped prove one of math’s $1 million Millennium Prize Problems. As the landscape of the field rapidly changes, Quanta Magazine wants to help readers cut through the noise of news, announcements and proclamations to understand what’s actually happening.

A new weekly dispatch, called “Transformation,” will explain new results and breakthroughs in a timely fashion and cover the ways mathematicians are grappling with the impact of AI on their discipline. The writer is Konstantin Kakaes, who has spent over a year reporting on this shift for Quanta.

At launch, you can find out more about the planned coverage, recent news about the elusive complex structure found for the six-dimensional sphere and the story behind this week’s Navier-Stokes breakthrough — including the human mathematicians whose work made it possible.
