Title: Hard Problems in Computational Stellar Physics
Abstract: Despite remarkable observational progress, many fundamental aspects of stellar structure and evolution — particularly for the most massive stars — remain poorly understood. In recent years, advances in both algorithms and computing power have opened new opportunities to address these long-standing challenges. At the CCA, we combine state-of-the-art 1D stellar evolution models with cutting-edge 3D hydrodynamic simulations to tackle some of the hardest problems in stellar physics. I will highlight a set of case studies where this integrated approach has yielded new insights, underscoring both how far computational stellar physics has come and how much remains to be explored.
