Title: Non-linear Black Hole Ringdown

Abstract: Several problems will benefit from a detailed understanding of the dynamics of perturbed Kerr black holes beyond linear order. These include interpretation of tests of general relativity using gravitational wave observations of black hole mergers, the self-force problem, and the study of near extremal black holes. I will describe some of the difficulties of doing so principle, and a new effort attempting to implement a scheme that could begin to address some of the motivating questions in practice.
