Title: Forays with a Formidable Formalism: Total Angular Momentum Waves, Cosmological Perturbations, and Gravitational Waves.
Abstract: Ten years ago, Liang Dai, Donghui Jeong, and I wrote a paper on a mathematical formalism, total angular momentum (TAM) waves, for cosmological perturbations. I will show how this formalism has enabled simple re-derivations of old results and led to new insights in cosmology, PTAs and gravitational waves, and numerical algorithms for cosmological perturbations.
