CCA Seminar (Elad Talk)

Date

The topic of my talk is:
“Recent advances in moving mesh and its application to the G2 gas cloud”

Abstract:

I will give a very brief introduction to Voronoi based moving mesh hydrodynamics.
A quick outline of a number of significant improvements that have been in moving mesh hydrodynamics enabling them to convergence with second order accuracy will be given.
Recently a gas cloud, called G2, has been observed in the midst of being tidally disrupted in the center of our galaxy. I’ll talk about recent advances in the understanding of the disruption process, obtained with analytic arguments coupled with simulations done with the RICH code.
