Challenges in Computational Astrophysics

Computer simulations are now a fundamental tool in theoretical astrophysics. Due to the ever increasing power of supercomputers, simulations now become more accurate and more realistic. I will describe what are the challenges that modern simulations face in the context of observational cosmology, galaxy formation and star formation. New hardware, new algorithms and new physical mechanisms will help us shed light on our understanding of the Universe.
