Title: Photo-excitation of Mott and charge transfer insulators

Abstract: Strong correlations between spin, charge and orbital degrees of freedom play an important role in materials. Developments of ultrafast spectroscopies enabled the disentanglement of these relevant degrees of freedom by their temporal evolution. I will present recent progress of theoretical tools based on non-equilibrium dynamical mean field theory (DMFT) and by comparison with experiments illustrate how to obtain additional information about microscopic degrees of freedom.
