Workshop Goals
The Center for Computational Neuroscience (CCN) at the Flatiron Institute organizes the Junior Theoretical Neuroscientist (JTN) workshop as an opportunity for selected postdocs and advanced PhD students to connect with each other and the theoretical neuroscience community at the Flatiron Institute. In 2026, we expect to select 10-12 trainees to participate in the workshop from July 21-24, to exchange ideas in an intimate, small group setting. Each participant will deliver a short research talk as well as a longer tutorial exploring techniques relevant to their research. Research talks will present recent or in progress results while tutorials will explore methods in depth and will be presented on the blackboard. The schedule will also include extended breaks for discussions.
Our aim is to attract a group of talented theorists studying different topics. We expect the workshop will provide a particularly excellent opportunity for participants in the process of planning their next career stage. There is no charge to attend the workshop. Travel, lodging, and meals will be provided.
