The Simons Foundation and Math for America (MƒA) are excited to participate in #BestSchoolDay, a surprise “flash funding” of classroom project requests posted on DonorsChoose.org from communities across the country. Today, the two organizations have chosen to donate a combined total of $250,000 to Bronx public school teachers to fund books, science equipment, field trips and more.

“We’re so proud to support the projects that teachers have identified as key to their students’ success,” said Boyana Konforti, director of education and outreach at the Simons Foundation.

“MƒA is participating in #BestSchoolDay because we believe teachers know best what they need for their classrooms and students,” said MƒA President John Ewing.

DonorsChoose.org is challenging the public to participate in #BestSchoolDay, which can be done by donating to classroom projects listed on its website for public school teachers and students nationwide.
