CAMELS (Cosmology and Astrophysics with MachinE Learning Simulations)

CAMELS is a large suite of N-body and state-of-the-art hydrodynamic simulations of cosmological structure formation in the non-linear regime that covers a range of sub-grid models for the physics of galaxy formation.

It is designed to provide training data for machine learning algorithms that incorporate the uncertainty associated with our limited knowledge of baryonic effects such as stellar and AGN feedback. CAMELS is also an open collaboration of scientists who leverage these simulations, which are largely publicly available for a variety of scientific goals, chief among which is constraining the basic cosmological parameters of our universe.
