Andrew Svesko is a postdoc at University College London. Born and raised in the pacific northwest of the United States, he studied quantum foundations at Oregon State University before receiving his Ph.D. from Arizona State University, where he was advised by Maulik Parikh. Broadly, Andy’s central focus of study lies at the intersection of gravity, thermodynamics and entanglement. More specifically, he is interested in understanding how gravity emerges from spacetime thermodynamics/entanglement, quantum aspects of black holes and semi-classical gravity.
