Ben Cousins is a postdoctoral research scientist at Columbia University in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. Ben obtained his Ph.D. in Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization from Georgia Institute of Technology, under the supervision of Santosh Vempala.

Ben’s primary research interests are in convex geometry, randomized algorithms, and Markov chains. He is particularly interested in developing and analyzing efficient algorithms for the problems of high-dimensional sampling, volume computation, and integration.
