Edgar Shaghoulian is a postdoc at the University of Pennsylvania. Hailing from Los Angeles, he received his Ph.D. at Stanford University with Leonard Susskind. His research is focused on black holes and quantum information, the emergence of gravity from gauge theory, symmetries in quantum field theory and a microscopic description of de Sitter spacetime.
