Gabriel Missael Barco, M.S.

Gabriel Missael Barco is a pre-doctoral research analyst at the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) in fall 2026, working with Carolina Cuesta-Lázaro, Elena Pinetti, and Francisco Villaescusa-Navarro. At CCA, he explores robust summary representations for inferring dark matter properties from small-scale structure in cosmological simulations.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in physics at Université de Montréal and is affiliated with Mila (Quebec AI Institute). Under the supervision of Yashar Hezaveh and Laurence Perreault-Levasseur, he develops probabilistic machine-learning methods for constraining the nature of dark matter using strong gravitational lensing data. Barco earned an M.Sc. in physics from Université de Montréal in 2025 and a B.Sc. in physics from the University of Guanajuato in 2022.
