Geoff Penington is an assistant professor at University of California, Berkeley, and a visiting junior professor at the Institute for Advanced Study. He obtained his Master of Mathematics (with B.A.) from Cambridge University and his Ph.D. from Stanford University under the supervision of Patrick Hayden. His research focuses on how information is encoded in quantum gravity and, in particular, quantum black holes.
