Jeremy Magland joined the Flatiron Institute at the Simons Foundation in 2015. His work focuses on developing computational methods and open-source software for analyzing, visualizing, and sharing large-scale scientific data. He has developed algorithms for clustering, spike sorting, and related data-driven modeling, and now concentrates on building reproducible, cloud-friendly tools that make complex datasets easier to explore and reuse. Before joining the foundation, Magland was a research associate professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he worked on mathematical modeling, image reconstruction, and data processing. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in mathematics from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
