Joakim Andén joined the foundation in 2017 as part of the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Biology, later moving to the Center for Computational Mathematics, where he is currently a Visiting Scholar. As a member of the Numerical Algorithms group, he developed new methods for analysis of biological data, with particular focus on cryo-electron microscopy. Currently, Andén is also an Associate Professor in Mathematics at KTH. Before, he was a postdoctoral research associate in the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Princeton University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the École Polytechnique in France.
