Kun Chen joined the Flatiron Institute in 2020 as a Flatiron Research Fellow in the Center for Computational Quantum Physics. His research is focused on the development of new concepts and algorithms to study the emergent phenomena in quantum material. Previously, Kun was a Simons Research Fellow at Rutgers University. He received his B.A. from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (UMASS, Amherst) and USTC in 2018. Kun has been named as a recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences President Outstanding Award in 2015, and the Kandula Sastry Thesis Award in 2018.
