Lile Wang earned his B.S. in physics from Tsinghua University in 2012, and Ph. D. in astrophysics from Princeton University in 2018, before joining the Flatiron Institute as a post-doctoral fellow.
Lile Wang’s research focuses on numerical simulations in astrophysics. He is now mainly interested in developing consistent methods for GPU-accelerated real-time computation methods, which efficiently co-evolve thermochemistry and radiation fields with (magneto-)hydrodynamic simulations, in realtime. These methods are applied to various types of astrophysical systems, including
- Protoplanetary disks,
- Exoplanet atmospheres,
- Galaxy clusters in cosmological simulations.
New tools and methods are also being developed to generate observational diagnostics (e.g. emission line profiles) for those systems to bridge simulations to observations.
