Mario Motta, Ph.D.

Mario Motta is a member of the Monte Carlo Group while working as a postdoctoral research associate​ with Professors Shiwei Zhang and Garnet Kin-Lic Chan. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Milan in 2015, under the supervision of Davide Galli.

His research is focused on extending and applying the auxiliary field quantum Monte Carlo method to real materials, and interfacing it with density matrix embedding theory.
Recently, he has been studying the ground-state properties of the Hydrogen chain, particularly the equation of state.
