Nanthia Suthana, Ph.D.
Professor, Duke University
Nanthia Suthana is professor in neurosurgery and biomedical engineering at Duke University. Her research focuses on uncovering the neural mechanisms underlying human memory and spatial navigation using mobile intracranial recordings combined with wearable sensor technologies in naturalistic, real-world environments. By integrating neuroengineering with cognitive neuroscience, Suthana’s lab develops innovative tools and methodologies to study brain function during ambulatory behaviors beyond traditional laboratory settings. Her work seeks to illuminate how neural circuits support complex cognition in ecologically valid contexts and to translate these insights into novel therapeutic strategies for brain disorders.
