Nat Simons
Trustee, Simons FoundationNat Simons is the chairman of Meritage Group LP, an investment management firm spun out of Renaissance Technologies. Previously a principal at Renaissance, Simons continues to serve on the company’s board.
In 2006, he and his wife, Laura Baxter-Simons, co-founded the Sea Change Foundation (SCF). The foundation supports and fosters policies, investments and practices that reduce the most substantial sources of greenhouse gas emissions. They are also co-directors of SCF and Sea Change Foundation International, which focuses on international climate philanthropy. In 2019, they partnered with several other funders to establish Climate Lead, which works with high-net-worth families interested in climate philanthropy. Simons and Baxter-Simons joined the Giving Pledge in 2017.
Simons has a B.A. in economics and an M.A. in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a board member of the Nick Simons Foundation and the Paul Simons Foundation.
