Nawaf Bou-Rabee, Ph.D.

Nawaf Bou-Rabee is a Professor of Mathematics at Rutgers University–Camden. His research focuses on theoretical and computational probability, with expertise in Markov chain mixing times and Markov chain Monte Carlo. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Visiting Professor in Probability Theory and Stochastic Analysis at Bonn University. He earned his PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology, followed by an NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Fellowship and a Courant Instructorship at New York University. Nawaf’s work has been supported by multiple grants from the National Science Foundation. He is a recipient of the Rutgers University–Camden Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Research and Creative Activity and a Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers.
