Pranav Satheesh, M.S.
Research Analyst, CCA
Pranav Satheesh joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) as a Research Analyst in the Pre-Doctoral Program in Fall 2026. Pranav is interested in how massive black holes form and co-evolve with galaxies. He uses cosmological simulations to study populations of massive black holes and model their dynamics in post-processing, and is interested in connecting massive black hole populations from cosmological simulations and semi-analytical models to gravitational wave and electromagnetic observations.
Pranav is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Florida. Prior to his graduate studies, he earned his BS-MS in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Besides his research, he is also involved in science communication. He was a science writer for Astrobites and an organizer for the ComSciCon conference for graduate students. He is currently working on using art and comics as a medium for communicating astronomy research.
