Data and Pipeline Project Leader, Cosmology/Simons Observatory, Flatiron InstituteSimone Aiola’s website

Simone Aiola joined the CCA at the end of 2018 as the Data & Pipeline Project Leader for the Simons Observatory (SO). While at the foundation, Simone will lead the development of the data-reduction pipeline, which will allow us to extract cosmological information from the raw data of the four soon-to-be-deployed SO telescopes.

Before joining the foundation, Simone was a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University for roughly two years, where he mostly focused on analyzing the data from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope. Simone has a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.Sc and M.Sc from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
