Thibault Lechien
Research Analyst, CCA
Thibault Lechien is a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics and is part of CCA’s Predoctoral program during the Fall of 2026. At CCA, he is working with Prof. Julianne Dalcanton on stress-testing stellar models at very low metallicity. Namely, he is studying massive stars and their evolution by using the vast amounts of Hubble Space Telescope observations collected by Prof. Dalcanton and her collaborators.
Thibault’s main research interests are stellar and binary evolution, statistical inference, and neural network emulators. He previously did research at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center on neutron stars, completed an internship at the European Space Agency, and holds degrees in computer science from KU Leuven.
