Vijay Bhattiprolu will be a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University from September 2019 to August 2020 and at Institute for Advanced Study from September 2020 to August 2021. He received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University under the supervision of Venkatesan Guruswami.

His interests are in approximation algorithms, continuous optimization, convex optimization and the sum of squares hierarchy. He works on extending the theory of approximation algorithms to continuous optimization. A current interest is characterizing operator norms and injective tensor norms that are computationally approximable.
