Applications Open for 2027 Fellows-to-Faculty Award Program

The program supports talented early-career scientists as they transition to tenure-track faculty positions. Submit your application by January 13, 2027.

The Simons Foundation’s Autism & Neuroscience division has opened applications for the 2027 Fellows-to-Faculty Award. The program helps early-career scientists transition into tenure-track faculty positions through funding, career development and mentorship. It is open to scientists with Ph.D. and/or M.D. degrees who are currently in mentored research training positions and plan to pursue faculty appointments in the coming academic year.

Fellows receive a commitment for a three-year, $600,000 faculty research grant, up to two years of postdoctoral support while they are on the job market, plus professional development, mentorship and access to a network of investigators.

Applicants must have a scientific vision for their future independent laboratory that aligns with the mission of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI), the Simons Collaboration on Plasticity and the Aging Brain (SCPAB) or the Simons Collaboration on Ecological Neuroscience (SCENE). The goal is to nurture new talent and grow the community of scientists contributing to the basic science missions of these programs. Please note this is the final request for applications for the SCPAB Fellows-to-Faculty program.

Applications are due January 13, 2027. An informational webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, 1–2:15 p.m. Eastern time on Zoom. Advance registration for the webinar is required.
