Flatiron Institute Staff

Ariel Largen is currently an undergraduate student at MIT majoring in computation and cognition.

Bryan Lau completed his PhD at Northwestern in Chemistry, and has held a continuous postdoctoral appointment through the University of Chicago, the Flatiron Institute, and now Columbia University.

Mike Lau is earning his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Monash University.

Ido Lavi joined the Flatiron Institute in 2023 as an associate research scientist in the Biophysical Modeling Group at the Center for Computational Biology (CCB).

Corey Lawrence was a Simons-NSBP Program (SNSP) Scholar in the summer of 2025.

After graduating from Yale University in 2019, she spent the summer at Microsoft Research studying fast algorithms for Toeplitz matrices, before returning as a research analyst at the (then newly formed) Center for Computational Mathematics (CCM).

At CCA, Thibault Lechien is working with Prof. Julianne Dalcanton on stress-testing stellar models at very low metallicity. His Thibault’s main research interests are stellar and binary evolution, statistical inference, and neural network emulators.
