MPS Scientific Advisory Board

Rachel Bean is an astrophysicist whose research focuses on understanding the cosmological properties of gravity, dark energy, neutrinos and primordial inflation using observations of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and the large scale structure of galaxies and clusters of galaxies.

Angela V. Olinto is Professor of Astronomy and of Physics and Provost of Columbia University.

Shankar is the Josiah Willard Gibbs Professor of Physics and Professor of Applied Physics at Yale. He was awarded the Sloan Fellowship, Yale's Burns/Sewell teaching prize and the APS's Lilienfeld Prize and is a fellow of the APS and the AAA&S.

Mark Trodden is the Fay R. and Eugene L. Langberg Professor of Physics, co-Director of the Center for Particle Cosmology and Associate Dean for the Natural Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania and a Fellow of the AAAS, APS and IOP.
