CCB and CCM Collaborate to Create the New Structural and Molecular Biophysics Team

Underlying all biological processes are molecules and their interactions with each other. However, our ability to understand how these molecules function over biologically relevant scales remains very limited. The work of the Structural and Molecular Biophysics team — a collaborative effort between the Center for Computational Biology and the Center for Computational Mathematics — focuses on developing and using mathematical approaches to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in key biological processes.*The team is developing theoretical and computational algorithms to unravel these underlying mechanisms using molecular dynamics simulations, cryo-electron microscopy and biophysical experiments.
