Sangkook Choi, Ph.D.
Sangkook Choi, Ph.D.’s websiteSangkook Choi is a member of the Real Materials Group, working with Gabriel Kotliar and Kristjan Haule at Rutgers, the state university of New Jersey. He obtained his Ph.D. in theoretical condensed matter physics from University of California, Berkeley, under the guidance of Professor Steven G. Louie in 2013.
Choi’s research interest is in combining the GW approximation with modern embedding (dynamical mean-field) methods to obtain a realistic description of strongly correlated compounds. His earlier work was focused on the quantitative calculation of electron-electron interaction effects to the ground state and electronic excitations of materials using first-principles and model Hamiltonian approaches within GW approximation.
