Stars and Compact Objects People

Hayk Hakobyan is interested in fundamental plasma-physical processes in the magnetospheres surrounding compact objects, such as neutron stars and black holes, as well as other astrophysical environments.

David W. Hogg is an astrophysicist at New York University’s Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics and the group leader of CCA’s Astronomical Data group. His research has ranged from fundamental cosmological measurements to stellar dynamics to exoplanet searches and characterization.

Yan-Fei joined the Center for Computational of Astrophysics in September 2019.

Daniel Lecoanet joined the CCA as a Research Scientist in 2026. He is an expert in astrophysical fluid dynamics, mostly applied to stellar interiors. He is a core developer of the Dedalus pseudo-spectral code.

Brian Metzger joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics in January 2021 as a Senior Research Scientist in the Compact Objects group.

Logan Prust joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics (CCA) as a Flatiron Research Fellow in 2025.

Amy Secunda joined the Center for Computational Astrophysics in September 2024 as a Flatiron Research Fellow.
